Your entry will be anonymously scored by 5 experienced judges. Your score will be final and eligible to receive a silver, silver distinction, gold, gold distinction, or platinum award. Digital badges and printable certificates will be available within your login area.
Your top 4 scoring entries will contribute to your Icon Honors of Excellence designation and accreditation points. Trophies will be given to new Icon Masters, Double Masters, Triple Masters and Grand Masters. These will be presented during the awards night gala on March 18, 2025, or sent to you after the convention.
Critiques may be purchased for $15 per entry.
These critiques will be made available for all to see and learn from after the annual in-person event but will be made available to the entrant before the in-person event. No names will be attached to an entry that scores 79 or below. If an entrant wants to keep their critique private, the cost of the critique will be $20 per entry.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
You must first enter the digital competition for a chance to enter the annual in-person print competition at the WPPI convention.
Only the top ten scoring entries of each category in the digital competition will be invited to enter the Icon International Print of the Year Awards, a completely separate competition. This will be held at the annual WPPI convention in March of 2025. Entries will only be eligible if they scored 80 or above in the digital competition. You will not receive an invitation if you haven't entered the digital competition. Entry into the annual print awards is not mandatory. Your Honors of Excellence points will not be affected by your entry into the annual print awards. The in-person judging will also be broadcast live online.
Finalists will be personally notified and announced. Finalists may accept or decline the invitation into the annual print awards. If they accept the invitation then they will be provided with a deadline to produce, print and send their physical entries.
There is a flat rate of $60 per entry (early bird price) into the annual print awards (by invitation only). Each physical print will need to be delivered as a 16x20 inch matted print.
The live judging will be held in one room featuring up to 10 images in each category. First, second and third place winners will be chosen for each category. A Grand Award for each division will also be determined. Trophies will be presented to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and Grand Award winners at the Icon Awards Night in Las Vegas on March 18, 2025. We will also broadcast the awards night live online.
Prints that have been entered into the annual print awards will be displayed in a gallery on the WPPI trade show floor on March 18-20, 2025.
Many images in each category that scored 79 or below (with teachable moments) in the online competition will be anonymously critiqued at the Icon Awards booth on the trade show floor at WPPI. This will also be broadcast live online.
All entries that score 80 and above in the online competition will be published in a book available for purchase.
