Joseph Victor Stefanchik’s (JVS) three favorite things in life are capturing genuine moments, creating dynamic portraits, and his family. With a background rooted in photojournalism, JVS has been fortunate to win a few awards including the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award for International Photojournalism twice (one solo, one team win) as well as being named a Pulitzer Prize finalist. In addition to being an editorial and advertising photographer, he accepts 10 wedding commissions per year. He’s worked as a staff photojournalist at a major daily newspaper and was a regular contributor to The Washington Post Magazine. Over the years he’s photographed music legends Led Zeppelin, Hollywood directors Steven Spielberg and Oliver Stone, along with many actors including Tom Hanks, Matt Damon, John Travolta, Jackie Chan and Rene Zellweger. JVS has photographed the atrocities of civil war and landmines in Angola, Africa, traversed down the Panama Canal in a Panamax ship and froze his butt off photographing the Nagano Winter Olympic Games. And believe it or not, he also has a passion for food photography. Born in Connersville, Indiana, raised in Princeton, New Jersey, JVS now calls Rosemary Beach, Florida home.
